Dinara Smolskaya wins silver medal in pursuit race
Dinara Smolskaya's silver medal is the main sports result of Saturday, December 21, for Belarusian biathlon fans. In the pursuit race at the third stage of the Commonwealth Cup, which is held in the Russian city of Tchaikovsky, the Olympic champion lost only to Victoria Slivko. Another Belarusian biathlete Anna Sola became fourth, as well as Anton Smolski in a similar race for men.
Dinara Smolskaya who started seventh in the pursuit on Saturday, eventually, thanks to only three misses, got silver.
The Belarusian was second only to Viktoria Slivko, while Natalia Shevchenko took bronze.
Anna Sola, having made 8 misses, showed incredible speed, but it was not enough for a medal, again the fourth place.
The men's pursuit race was also held in a bright struggle. Anton Smolskiy performed well, jumping from 12th place to 4th.
But the main thing is that thanks to such an excellent performance Anton retained the leadership in the overall standings of the Commonwealth Cup. The Belarusian is 15 points ahead of Eduard Latypov.
