Trump will not worry either about Belarus, Russia or European countries
According to the President of Belarus, American President Donald Trump is capable of changing something in the United States. Will the newly elected President of the United States allow the relations between the United States and Belarus to change? The Dean of the Faculty of Journalism of BSU Alexey Belyaev explains.
Trump is a pragmatic politician, the expert noted. "Of course, everyone understands that Trump is a pro-American politician. That is, in this case, he will not worry at all about Belarus, Russia or European countries. He will promote his agenda. But unlike, for example, previous representatives of the Democratic Party, Trump looks at the situation more soberly. Because Biden and his entourage, Kamala Harris, they had such very inflated expectations and ideas about the role of the United States. And they believed that nothing in the world had changed, that their superiority still exists," he explained. According to him, Trump initially, even in his first term, saw that America was being squeezed. "Why did he start trade wars with China, actively act on the international stage, promoting the interests of the United States?" asked Alexey Belyaev. "Because he felt that these interests were starting to be pushed into the background, they were fading away there."

Donald Trump has his own vision of foreign policy, the expert is sure. "In this vision of foreign policy, for example, he sees relations with Russia completely differently, not like his predecessors. He sees that Russia should in this case be at least neutral towards the United States, and not an obvious enemy. Therefore, here, perhaps, some changes for the better for us. But this does not mean that Trump cares about us. This is how he sees the interests of the United States," the dean noted. Alexey Belyaev: "The fact that President Alexander Lukashenko drew attention to the fact that Trump is really a politician who enjoys authority and trust among US citizens. And he won quite fairly this time. And, as our President said, he probably won the previous elections as well. Although this victory was not simply given to him."
