Andrei Rybakov appointed new head of Belaruskali

Moreover, the President today proposed to reduce the production of potash fertilizers. Not to create a deficit, but to equalize prices. This is an expensive product and its value should be appropriate.

Andrei Rybakov has become new head at Belaruskali. The company is one of the most significant exporters in the country. In the current realities, it is important to competently build a sales line for our products, find profitable logistics routes for deliveries. The sphere in which we will have to work is not easy, the President stressed.

Sanctions force us to look for ways to stay on the market. Alexander Lukashenko proposed to the new leader to review certain issues of potash production.

According to the International Association, Belaruskali accounts for a fifth of the world's potash fertilizer production. Exports go to 130 countries and our country has a sufficient raw material base. Due to the sanctions, logistics have changed - now fertilizers are shipped through Russian ports. And nevertheless, there is a specific time for sales.

The head of state is convinced: the proice of potash for the domestic market should be close to the  production cost. The logic in this is simple. Our own farmers must have access to fertilizers. And we will have to enter foreign markets with a finished product: we are talking about food. There is a high demand for Belarusian products. This year, according to competent estimates, we will sell about 9 billion dollars worth. And here we can and should add.

The President announced: certain changes are coming to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At the same time, it is unacceptable to appoint people, so to speak, "for yourself". There should be no "your own" by friendship or previous connections in the team of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (as well as in other areas). The main criteria for appointment are professionalism and reliability! And then our export largely depends on these people. So the heads of large enterprises from the real sector of the economy are exactly in this chain. There must be absolute understanding and the ability to compete, even under unequal conditions. Work for professionals.
