Belarus and Laos plan to take economic and humanitarian cooperation to new level
Belarus expects to open a new page in relations with Laos. Speaker of the House of Representatives Igor Sergeenko is convinced of this. The delegation of our parliament is on an official visit to Laos.
The agenda includes issues of economic and humanitarian cooperation. It needs to be raised to the high level of our political friendship. We have a solid foundation, because Belarus and Laos have known each other since Soviet times. Taking trade to a higher level is a common goal.

During the negotiations in parliament and the government, it was said that the agreements should not only be filled with specific content, but also implemented as soon as possible. The agricultural topic is one of the leading ones. This includes equipment and our technologies. The banking sector is ready to support our exports to Laos.
Igor Sergeenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus:
"We discussed opportunities in our economy (from equipment supplies to agricultural products) and purchasing a certain type of goods from Laos. Unfortunately, today we cannot say that everything is fine with us. In any case, we saw the desire of the country's leadership to come up with specific proposals."
A memorandum of cooperation between the parliaments of our countries was signed. This makes it possible to intensify inter-parliamentary contacts. Such diplomacy helps strengthen economic ties. The Belarusian side also invited their Laotian colleagues to visit our country.
