Minsk and Moscow continue to strengthen integration in all areas, and parliamentary cooperation is no exception.
A delegation of the Federation Council is on an official visit to Belarus.
What negotiations have already taken place and what are the plans?
Belarus and Russia continue to demonstrate to the whole world that only together can we overcome any difficulties.
The Russian delegation has already held a number of meetings to strengthen partnership, in particular, key issues of the inter-parliamentary commission, trade and economic issues and work between the regions of Belarus and Russia.
Thus, for 9 months of 2024, Belarus was visited by 35 delegations led by the heads of Russian regions and 39 delegations of business circles of Russian regions. In turn, Belarusian delegations made 73 visits to the Russian regions.
Sergey Khomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus:
"The relations that have developed between the parliaments of Belarus and Russia are to some extent indicative of the relationship between the parliamentarians of the two fraternal peoples, who are moving towards the same goal - the preservation of sovereignty, the preservation of peaceful skies and further development, despite any objective and subjective factors that Western states are trying to create for us."
"Cooperation between our industrial and scientific organizations is of great importance. Today this is the most important thing. Because nothing can be solved without the economy. We need a successful economy and the development of economic ties. All this will certainly affect the standard of living of our people. Therefore, the economy and once again the economy," said Yuri Vorobyev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia.
Interregional cooperation is considered the engine of the union economy. The growth of trade, the strengthening of industrial cooperation, the production of the Belarusian-Russian product - all this is practically the result of a well-established partnership.
Bilateral projects are being implemented in industry. A striking example is construction. The number of facilities erected in the Russian regions by Belarusian builders is growing.
A new perspective for the aircraft industry. By 2027, Belarus plans to establish the production of a light multipurpose aircraft.
On October 3, the delegation also had a busy day. Guests will visit our unique security center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, where new technologies have been introduced. Next in the program - BELAZ - our heavyweights work throughout Russia, and will also look into Khatyn. After all, the preservation of historical memory in times of new challenges and threats is of particular importance.
