Voice of Belarus sounds from UN rostrum in New York
Belarus calls on the countries of the world to show their will and start a global dialog on security in the spirit of San Francisco, the idea of which was expressed by the Belarusian leader seven years ago. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Sergei Khomenko in his speech from the UN tribune. Obviously, there is a need for a serious dialog. Its goal is to develop common constructive principles for building a new fair multipolar world order. Belarus is convinced that even in the current difficult situation the UN member states can and should effectively address common challenges and threats.
According to the Belarusian side, such an impetus is necessary against the background of weak interim results in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals on a global scale. Against this background, Belarus has achieved significant successes: a strong socially oriented state has been built and an effective policy in the interests of people is being pursued. The successes are confirmed by international ratings. The level of progress in achieving the SDGs is almost 80%. And this is the 30th line out of 160 countries. Belarus is confidently moving forward despite the huge obstacles that the Western countries create for us through sanctions.
