"Already enough" - Lukashenko about 1.5 million signatures collected for his nomination to elections

More than 1.5 million signatures have already been collected for the nomination of the current President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in the presidential elections to be held in January 2025. This was announced at a meeting of the head of state with the head and coordinators of the initiative group, BELTA reports.
"I am very grateful to all of you, the coordinators and the groups that were created within the initiative group. You, regardless of time, I know that you are doing all this very carefully and cautiously. You are not forcing anyone, not putting pressure. This is right. It is right because we do not need this. This is absolutely not necessary. And in order not to create unnecessary questions later, we have to act very carefully in this direction," the President said.
"But judging by the number of signatures that you have collected, this is a catastrophic job. I didn't even expect it to be like this," the Belarusian leader emphasized.
He asked the members of the initiative group to decide for themselves how to proceed, but not to overexert themselves. "There is no need to overexert the members of the initiative group, so that they run around, overexert themselves. Run around people's houses and ask for something or set up extra signature collection points. And so a sufficient number has been collected," said Alexander Lukashenko.
As the head of the initiative group, the chairman of the FPB Yuri Senko, reported at the meeting, more than 1.5 million citizens' signatures have already been collected for the nomination of the current President in the upcoming elections.
