Lukashenko stresses importance of motivating students to study and lead healthy lifestyle

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, during his visit to the Minsk State Linguistic University, stressed the importance of motivating students both to study and to lead a healthy lifestyle, BELTA reports.
"The time has come for people to think about their education, health, and other things, sports themselves. If you want - please, we open the door for you. But just sitting here, suffering with teachers trying to get something out of you, and you don't want to... Probably, this time has already passed," the Belarusian leader emphasized.
At the university, the head of state was first informed about the prospects for the university's development.
Speaking about the duration of study, the President noted that it is necessary to somehow change the form of teaching foreign languages. "This is the language. We need real practice. I am hinting at the fact that we need to change the forms of education significantly. It is not like they read a lecture - here is the text for you, as we once had, go and translate it at home, come and report, or sit in the office with headphones. This is good. But this is for starters. And then we need to go deeper to know the language," said Alexander Lukashenko.
MSLU Rector Natalia Lapteva said that the university, among other things, is training in digital linguistics, where the qualification of "specialist in the use of information technology" is added to language training. This is important, including taking into account the development of artificial intelligence.
At the university, the head of state was greeted by students of different nationalities who presented him with his quote about youth, translated into 15 foreign languages that are studied at the university.
