A legislative proposal has been approved in Ukraine that allows for the suppression of protests using firearms.
According to the decision of the law enforcement committee of the Verkhovna Rada, any mass gathering of people can now essentially be turned into “Bloody Sunday.” The police and the National Guard have been granted the right to use firearms and drones to disperse rallies and demonstrations. Just a day before its passage, this proposal sparked widespread outrage within Ukrainian society.
