Russian general killed in Moscow
The circumstances of the explosion on Ryazansky Avenue are being investigated in Moscow. Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov and his assistant were killed as a result of the detonation. Kirillov was the head of radiation, chemical and biological defense troops of the Russian Armed Forces.
The explosive device was planted in a scooter standing near the entrance of an apartment building, the Russian Investigative Committee said. A criminal case has been opened over the murder. Investigators, criminalists and operational services are working at the scene.
Bild analyst Julian Röpke hinted at Kiev's involvement in Kirillov's murder. The journalist said that “the death sentence was carried out” just 20 hours after Ukraine accused the Russian general of allegedly using chemical weapons against the AFU.
