Belarusian products conquer Shanghai

The Belarusian delegation headed by the Minister of Agriculture and Food held talks with the heads of several regions and investors on the sidelines of EXPO.

All these days we have been working at the China International Import Expo. About 60 Belarusian enterprises brought their products, their business proposals. In general, there are exhibitors from 150 countries and regions. More than 300 thousand visitors... In our pavilions, business negotiations, product tastings, exchange of contacts, signing of cooperation documents were constantly underway. The EXPO exhibition is a platform for specific work. Our delegation headed by the Minister of Agriculture and Food uses every minute for business talk. We are focused on technology: we want to build fifth-generation greenhouses for growing fruit and vegetable products. We are also interested in organizing the production of tetrapack packaging.

The State Committee for Science and Technology, the National Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Education are responsible for high technologies and equipment under the Belarusian flag at the exhibition.

The latest technologies in the field of road safety, space systems for remote sensing of the earth are presented at the EXPO.

And the international pride of Belarus is the High-Tech Park, created on behalf of our President.

Kirill Zalessky, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Supervisory Board of the High-Tech Park:

"The Park is the international pride of our country, it is its calling card. Therefore, such a large-scale event as the national exposition of Belarus in Shanghai could not do without the HTP. In fact, China is not a traditional market for the High-Tech Park. Some are just starting to develop their presence here. Today, we are presenting a number of developments, IT services and solutions of the HTP residents in order to feel out the Chinese market and understand in which direction we can move further."

Enterprises of the Ministry of Industry of Belarus, as well as the largest industry concerns, Belneftekhim, Bellesbumprom, Bellegprom, brought their developments.

Alexander Chervyakov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China:

"China is a strategic partner for Belarus. In terms of trade turnover, it is in second place after the Russian Federation. Over the past 10 years, the dynamics have been very significant. Our trade turnover has grown 2.5 times. And 3 times in exports. We are very serious suppliers to the Chinese market and participate in ensuring China's food security."

Andrei Andreev, Consul General of Belarus in Shanghai (China):

"If you pay attention, we are in the same row with our key BRICS partners: Russia, Brazil, and South Africa is behind us. And with our like-minded people: Cuba and Syria are here. Today's exhibition is of particular importance as a platform that demonstrates to the whole world what our cooperation can bring to our countries and peoples. If we remove unfair sanctions, if we respect each other, what a wonderful impetus our interaction will receive."

Last year, Belarusians took almost 450 million rubles worth of contracts and agreements from China. The results of EXPO-2024 promise to beat this amount.
