7th China International Import Expo opens in Shanghai with Belarus among participants

Belarus and China are "iron brothers". We are building all-weather, comprehensive, strategic and mutually beneficial relations.

The China International Import Expo opens on November 5: a showcase of the best, highest quality and most profitable. They promise million-dollar deals. Of course, Belarusians are also at the exhibition.

EXPO in Shanghai is a showcase of the world business. The business elite is here these days. Our enterprises are preparing to open their expositions, about 60 Belarusian exhibitors have arrived.

Note that the total amount of deals for 2023 following the EXPO exceeded 78 billion dollars. Belarusians took away contracts and agreements worth almost 450 million rubles, which is a lot. But you need to understand that this is a long-term job. It is important to gain a foothold in the market. And we know how to do this: convince with quality and service. Belarusians always keep their word - this is known very well in China.

The Minsk-Beijing agreements were sealed at the highest level. Our President Alexander Lukashenko and Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping see each other regularly. In March 2023, they cemented exemplary relations of all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era.

The course was also confirmed on the sidelines of the SCO and BRICS.

When such figures in big politics pave the way for business, it is easier to work.

The first business negotiations have already taken place in Shanghai: the Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus Anatoly Linevich, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the People's Republic of China Alexander Chervyakov and representatives of business circles, the Union of Foreign Investments of the China Investment Association. The meeting included heads of enterprises from Shandong Province - one of the largest in terms of population and the first in the field of mechanical engineering and agriculture in China. The region produces most types of equipment and agricultural machinery, and grows 70% of vegetables in China. Here are representatives of various areas of agricultural production: from packaging to trade and agricultural machinery. Just recently, representatives of one of the companies got familiar with how vegetables are grown in greenhouses in Belarus, and today they are discussing investments in Shanghai.

Let us recall that the PRC economy is the first in the world in terms of purchasing power parity. And at the EXPO site, we, Belarusians, and our Belarusian, are seen by the Global South and the whole world. There is a market. And the development of economies cannot be stopped, no matter how much someone in the Old or New World might like it.
