Belarus' progress in achieving SDG remains high
Belarus' progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals remains high: this was announced at a meeting of the country's Sustainable Development Council.
On November 12, representatives of the legislative and executive authorities, public associations and international guests are discussing the results of the Belarusian delegation's participation in the Future Summit. It was held in September.
Sergei Khomenko - Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, National Coordinator for the Achievement of the SDGs:
"Today we hold the planned event to summarize the results of activities to achieve the goal of sustainable development. We have something to be proud of and thanks to the Head of State, thanks to our government, thanks to the activities of the regions, Belarus today occupies one of the leading places in the process of social development. The principle "everything for a person, everything in the name of a person" is being fully implemented."
Also today, at the Council meeting, the results of the activities of the Sustainable Development Council for 2024 will be summarized and plans will be outlined for the next anniversary for the 2030 Agenda - the 10th year of sustainable development in Belarus.
In 2024, Belarus took 30th place among 166 countries in the Sustainable Development Goals ranking, scoring 78.6 points out of 100 possible.
