Belarus to open its embassy in the Vatican

Belarus will open an embassy in the Vatican until September 1, 2025. This follows from the decree of the government of our country, published on the eve of Catholic Christmas.

The permanent diplomatic mission of the Holy See in Belarus appeared in 1992 and exists in the form of the Apostolic Nunciature. Until recently, our state was represented in the Vatican by diplomats appointed as ambassadors to other European countries and at the Holy See. Belarus did not have its own embassy in the city-state.

The opening of an embassy usually means an increase in the level of interstate relations. And opens new opportunities for cooperation.

Recently, the Vatican citizens were included in the number of foreigners, who will be able to receive electronic visas to Belarus from March 2025.
