Alexander Lukashenko extends invitation to President of Iran to visit Belarus

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has invited President of Iran Massoud Pezeshkian to visit Belarus. He said this at a meeting with Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Akbar Ahmadian, BELTA reports.
“The Iranian people have recently suffered a great misfortune - your President has died. But you have courageously passed this period, you have elected a new President. I congratulate you on this and I want you to tell your President that we are waiting for him in Belarus,” said the head of state.
As reported, in May 2024, President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi and a number of high-ranking leaders of this country were tragically killed in a plane crash.
In July, Masoud Pezeshkian won the presidential election. “The dialog between Minsk and Tehran at all levels is steadily expanding. I am convinced that in the near future we will be able to implement all the agreements reached, including those on giving the Belarusian-Iranian relations the character of a strategic partnership,” said the President of Belarus in his congratulatory message.
