It Is Still Unclear Whether Poland’s Border Closure Will Be Temporary or a Long-Term Measure

Experts agree that all the recent developments near Belarus involving Poland are part of an escalation of the conflict between our countries. However, Poland is merely a tool—much like Ukraine once was—in the broader geopolitical game orchestrated by the West.

Daniel Mikusek, political analyst (Poland):

"In my view, all this story about drones stems from a certain provocation and a reluctance on Washington’s part to let these relations between the countries turn into reality. During a press conference, Donald Tusk spoke about the need to close the Silk Road and to shut the border. It was evident at that moment that his hands were trembling. Unfortunately for Poland, although Mr. Donald Tusk wished to change Poland’s policy, he was not allowed to do so and was forced to concede. This is regrettable, as it is also unfortunate for the Belarusians, who now have to stand in long queues. Ultimately, it remains unclear what they should do, because it is uncertain whether the Polish-Belarusian border closure will only last during the military exercises, for an indefinite period, or for many, many years."
