Alexander Lukashenko names four threats to global security

Comprehensive security by definition should provide guarantees to states not only in the military, but also in the political, economic, information and other spheres. This was emphasized by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at the 2nd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security, BELTA reports.
In his speech, Alexander Lukashenko outlined his vision of the existing problems and ways to solve them. According to him, before discussing global security, it is necessary to start with the definition of the concept itself.
"As a rule, when speaking about security, they mean guarantees of protection against encroachment on their territory. However, comprehensive security by definition should provide guarantees to states not only in the military, but also in the political, economic, information and other spheres. When viewed from this angle, the scale of the crisis that has engulfed the planet becomes obvious," the President noted.
According to him, having appropriated to themselves the title of "leader of the free world" after the collapse of the entire socialist camp, the United States, despite all its potential, proved incapable of being a single global support and guarantor of security in the broadest sense of the concept. And international institutions, called upon to be a universal moderator or arbitrator, today sometimes demonstrate complete paralysis.
"The absence of a system of checks and balances has led to the degradation of security in all areas," the Belarusian leader said.
First. Politics
Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that the world is witnessing the collapse of all postulates of democracy.
"We see: there is democracy for oneself, and there is democracy for export. What democratic values can explain what is happening in the Middle East and what happened in Ukraine? Does the height of democracy really mean the ability to physically eliminate a person whom, for example, the United States and its satellites consider a threat to national security? Anyone - from a political and public figure to a businessman, scientist or journalist," the President noted. "Or the new "democratic" trend - to scare the heads of sovereign states with the International Criminal Court."
"And what does the declaration of the Secretary-General of the United Nations as persona non grata for his principled position, which he finally openly expressed, have in common with democracy? Or how should we assess the ongoing attacks on the same Antonio Guterres for visiting the BRICS summit - an association of countries that account for almost 40% of the world's GDP?" the head of state noted.
He noted that not only individual leaders are being attacked, but entire nations. Thus, in the states that dared to follow their own path, color revolutions are inspired, loyal leaders and outright puppets are brought to power for the money of Western "soft power" - the so-called non-governmental or non-profit organizations.
"The rampant "democracy" has led to a split in civil society on a frighteningly large scale. We are seeing a fire-hazardous situation in Germany, France, Poland, Moldova, Georgia and others. And America itself has been in a fever for the last decade," - noted Alexander Lukashenko.
One of the reasons for today's events in the world was the migration crisis, the President said. He drew attention to the fact that the death and beating of refugees and migrants in the territory of the countries of the collective West have become a terrible daily reality. But the world media are silent about this, while accusations against Belarus in creating this crisis do not leave the front pages.
"We are "to blame" for this global migration crisis. Despite the fact that the main route of these people has not changed for many years - through the Mediterranean Sea, up to half a million people pass through the Balkan Peninsula every year. Europe is not able to restore order at home, but it knows well how to distract from internal problems - to appoint an external enemy," the Belarusian leader emphasized.
Second. Military security
"The United States are increasingly forced to use military force to protect their sovereignty, internal stability or prevent escalation, which is very important today. Further escalation of the Ukrainian and Middle Eastern conflicts is fraught with irreparable consequences on a global scale," Alexander Lukashenko emphasized.
At the same time, the head of state noted that, by focusing attention only on these two hotbeds, the world for some reason ignores the fact that today there are about 55 armed conflicts. Thousands of people die in them every day. "Take the Yemen conflict, which the collective West is supposedly uncomfortable to highlight," the President gave an example. "And if we take the long view, the Middle East and Ukraine together are taking a rest. There, in the Indian Ocean and the Gulf that the Houthis control today, such a catastrophe could happen that we have never even dreamed of." He also recalled that there are essentially no legal international legal instruments left that form guarantees in the sphere of military security.
Third. Economy
Alexander Lukashenko stated that half the world is under illegal sanctions, entire sectors of the economy are paralyzed by illegitimate restrictions, and the right to private property is destroyed. "State assets are being arrested and sovereign financial resources are being brazenly stolen. Gas pipelines are being blown up, access to the sea is being blocked," the President listed just a few of the threats.
He also noted that purchasing goods from Western brands is no longer a guarantee of technological security, since they can refuse to supply spare parts or provide service at any time.
"The system of international division of labor, which we have built with such effort, has been undermined. And the next step is the expansion of protectionism and closed economies? Are we going to move backwards instead of forwards?" the head of state said.
In the age of high technology, the issue of food shortages is still on the agenda. "The scale of hunger on the planet is already approaching the figures of the post-war years (about 750 million people are starving, and almost 3 billion more do not have adequate nutrition). What should we call this?" asked Alexander Lukashenko.
At the same time, countries that export food, fertilizers, and agricultural machinery are deprived of the right to supply their products to those who are in dire need of them for political reasons.
"Being aimed at destroying national economies, in reality, sanctions work against ordinary people. In such conditions, how can we talk about fulfilling obligations under the UN Sustainable Development Goals? It is absolutely obvious that without the West's gangster prohibitions and restrictions, the world would be much closer to solving these problems," said the Belarusian leader.
Fourth. Information security
"The media have become a real weapon. Post-truth, endless fakes, manipulation of public opinion, seizure of financial resources, organization of coups d'état have a transnational character and are more dangerous in their power than any military intervention. And just try to move differently than they planned. Get up on the wrong side of the bed in the morning - and off we go," the President emphasized.
Increasingly, they are trying to use advanced developments in the field of artificial intelligence, biotechnology, neural networks, quantum physics to destroy humanity. "Society will shudder more than once when the blatant facts of the real activities of American biolabs around the world are revealed, especially along the perimeter of Belarus and Russia," the head of state said.
"I could go on listing these "achievements" of Western civilization for a long time. And Western civilization can also be put in quotation marks. At one time, Mahatma Gandhi, when asked what he thought of Western civilization, wisely answered: "I think that would be a good idea," Alexander Lukashenko quoted the famous political figure and philosopher.
