Belarus Ratifies Agreement with Russia on Development and Serial Production of Osvey Aircraft

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko signed a law ratifying the intergovernmental agreement between Belarus and Russia on the development and organization of serial production of the Osvey twin-engine light multipurpose aircraft. This was reported by BELTA with reference to the press service of the head of state.
The investment project for the development of the 19-seat Osvey aircraft and the organization of its serial production at the 558 Aircraft Repair Plant is being implemented within the framework of the Comprehensive Interdepartmental Program for Cooperation with Russia in the Field of Aircraft Manufacturing.
The agreement, signed on 15 April 2024, defines the main issues of the organization, financing and implementation of the investment project, authorized bodies, rights to the results of intellectual activity, as well as the volume of orders for the production of fuselages and aircraft placed by the Russian side at the 558 Aircraft Repair Plant.
The adoption of the law allows the creation of conditions in Belarus for the formation of its own aircraft manufacturing industry.
