Governor of Sakhalin Region of Russian Federation commended by President of Belarus

An official letter of thanks of the President of the Republic of Belarus has been conferred on Valery Limarenko, Governor of Sakhalin Region of the Russian Federation, BELTA reports.

Valery Limarenko has been awarded an Acknowledgement of the President for his high professionalism, significant contribution to the implementation of the investment project for the construction of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant.

The Governor of the Sakhalin Region in 2007-2018 headed the Nizhny Novgorod engineering company Atomenergoproekt and personally supervised the work on preparations for the construction of the first power unit of BelNPP, participated in the development of the intergovernmental agreement between Belarus and Russia on cooperation in the construction of the nuclear power plant and the general contract for its construction.
