Lukashenko Approves Draft Protocol on Amendments to the SCO Budget Formation Agreement

On October 14, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 393 approving the draft protocol on introducing amendments to the agreement on the procedure of formation and execution of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization budget of December 1, 2017 as a basis for negotiations. This is reported by BelTA with reference to the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The document revises the share contributions of the SCO member states to the budget of this organization. The amount of the contribution is determined on the basis of the principle of equity participation of the parties, while Belarus became a full-fledged, tenth member of the SCO on July 4, 2024.

The Government of Belarus is authorized to negotiate the draft protocol and sign it.
