Lukashenko arrives in Oman on working visit

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko arrived in the Sultanate of Oman on a working visit. Belarusian Forge number 1 landed at the International Airport of the capital city of Muscat, BELTA reports.

Negotiations with the Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said are planned. The leaders of the countries will discuss the state and prospects of development of relations, areas in which additional impetus can be given to bilateral cooperation. The heads of state will also exchange views on the current international agenda.

Relations between Belarus and Oman are built on the foundation that was laid back in 2007 during the first ever visit of Alexander Lukashenko to this country. Since then, the parties have significantly expanded the regulatory framework for bilateral cooperation, significant high-level visits have taken place, and joint work is being carried out in a number of areas.

The main focus during Alexander Lukashenko's current visit will be on trade and economic cooperation. This includes expanding trade turnover, developing cooperation in industry and agriculture, and other areas of mutual interest.
