Lukashenko at awards ceremony: The overall result makes Belarus beautiful, prosperous and peaceful
Traditionally, on the eve of major state holidays, the President presents state awards. On September 17, on the People’s Unity Day, the true holders of the traditions of those who did not give in to the difficulties of the past century, who created, protected and raised our country, gathered in the Palace of Independence.
There is an unspoken rule - guests in the palace should feel comfortable, and journalists are also interested in this. Moreover, we know that these people have a very beautiful moment in their professional life ahead, excitement should not prevent them from remembering and feeling everything.
Orders of the Fatherland, medals "For Labor Merit", awarding titles
Orders of the Fatherland of the 1st and 2nd degree, medals for labor merit, titles of honored for people of absolutely different professions: doctors, teachers, scientists, artists, military personnel, coaches.
"I feel good, like in my own home, because it is nice when the head of state will present me with such an award. It means that everything I do is not in vain," - shares her impressions the head coach of the Belarusian trampoline team Olga Vlasova.
The award ceremony itself on the eve of major state holidays, significant dates - has long been a tradition. The logic is simple, in our history there were many difficult periods, after which the country was restored only due to the labor of people, during whose time these events occurred. Generations have taught us in many ways in spite of moving forward.
"85 years ago, the liberation campaign of the Red Army put an end to the issue of our state self-determination. The people, divided for many years into Western and Eastern Belarusians, became a single nation. The history of a long journey began: during the Great Patriotic War - dramatic and heroic, after the Great Victory - peaceful and creative. On September 17, the Palace of Independence gathered true successors of the traditions of those who did not give in to the difficulties of the past century, who created, defended and raised our country," said the head of the Belarusian state.
State awards are not always about a feat, but also about everyday work, which is sure to bring results. But as for Olympians and Paralympians, both components are needed.
The President thanked the coaches who raised new Olympic medalists
"The Summer Olympics became another significant page in the history of national sports. They tried to remove us, deprive us of the flag and anthem. But the world still talked about Belarusians, admiring their victories together with us," the head of state emphasized. "And it is talking again thanks to the brilliant performance of the Belarusian team at the World Championship in Firefighting Sports. 9 medals: 5 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze. The world record. Each success is for the glory of our native country. This is a real gift for today's holiday and the result of your titanic work!"
Another highlight of this ceremony was the presentation of medals "For Distinction in the Prevention and Elimination of Emergencies." This summer showed what the Belarusian elements can be like. A hurricane in the Gomel region. Major Trushkov was on urgent duty at that moment - he was called to the Marat Kazei children's camp. The camp area is located near the river, which was one of the reasons why the trees fell like matchsticks. No communication, no transport, we made our way with chainsaws as quickly as possible.
"We saved two children, the third, unfortunately, died. We pulled him out from under the rubble," recalls Dmitry Trushkov, senior assistant to the chief of staff of the PASO No. 3 of the Rechitsa District Department of Emergency Situations.
Unfortunately, this is life. But this particular emergency situation showed that there are no unimportant people at this moment. Everyone who somehow joins in helping is a hero.
Summing up, Alexander Lukashenko congratulated all those gathered on their high awards and on the People’s Unity Day. Only a common result can make Belarus prosperous.
"This is national unity - when everyone is focused on their tasks and goals, and the common result makes Belarus beautiful, cozy, prosperous and peaceful," the Belarusian leader emphasized.
The head of state congratulated everyone on their high awards and honorary titles. "Your achievements made this festive day at the Palace of Independence special. Thank you for your work! Thank you to everyone who has become a reliable support for you on the path to success - your family, loved ones, friends, colleagues, your fellow servicemen. A personal award is always the result of teamwork," Alexander Lukashenko emphasized.
This means that today, awards were received not by 46 people in the hall, but by many times more people whose efforts are not visible at the moment, but are definitely noticeable in the life of each awardee.
