President holds meeting with head of Donetsk People's Republic
Belarus is ready to cooperate with the Donetsk People's Republic. Alexander Lukashenko stated this during a meeting with the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin. The President also emphasized that in such cooperation, it is necessary to move away from intermediaries and work directly.
We have been cooperating for a long time. As for Belarus, we have always cooperated with the Donetsk region as part of Ukraine. And, naturally, in these complex, difficult times we kept this cooperation, and are ready to continue it at present. Moreover, there are certain developments, the foundation has been laid.
Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that in this cooperation, it is necessary to move away from any intermediaries, and the Belarusian side is ready to do this. I was even surprised that we still have them. We are ready to cooperate with you directly", - he said.
"Here we have various hints and other things, even from the West, that you will offend Ukraine. We don't offend anyone. We are ready to cooperate with Ukraine on the same principles as with the Donetsk Republic," said the head of state. - We always accept your children here for treatment and rest. They are very happy. Yet, they almost dragged me to some court, claiming that we are stealing your children. So I suggested to both Ukraine and the Americans: please come, find at least one stolen child. This is not our principles".
"We will cooperate with you, absolutely not violating any international norms and norms of our relations. We work in the name of the people. There is a problem in construction with you - we will support and help you. Do you have a problem treating someone, getting an education - we are ready to cooperate with you. Absolutely on such principles, we are ready to cooperate with Ukraine. Therefore, do not blame us. We are peace-loving people. At the core of our friendship and cooperation is only peace," assured the Belarusian leader.
He emphasized that the DPR can count on Belarus if they see something necessary in the country for the restoration and development of their region.
