American business has its eye for Nord Stream
An unexpected buyer has been found for the blown up and seemingly useless Nord Stream 2. As soon as the conflict in Ukraine ends, Europe will want to turn on the gas pipeline - this is the prospect predicted in Washington. An investor from the USA wanted to buy Nord Stream 2. Stephen Lynch (one of the sponsors of Trump's campaign) is sure that this deal will allow the Americans "to control Europe's energy supply until the end of the fossil fuel era", and he himself "to become the richest guy", reports The Wall Street Journal.
A request for a license to conduct negotiations has already been sent to the US Treasury. The businessman expects that Nord Stream 2, valued at $11 billion, can be bought "for pennies".
