EU has no money for Eastern Shield project

The new Western fence is crumbling before it is built.

The European Union may not be able to find funds to finance the Eastern Shield project in the coming years. This is a plan to build a line of defensive fortifications along Poland's border with Belarus and Russia, reports the Krakow-based radio station RMF FM.

At best, money for the Polish defense line can only be found in the EU budget for 2028-2034.

So, Warsaw may see $2.5 billion only on the deadline for which Prime Minister Tusk announced the completion of the project.
