Germany strikes a blow to its own well-being
Experts in Germany not only do not expect the economy to grow this year, but also expect it to fall further. The competitiveness of German industry is steadily declining in the face of energy instability.
Even with the most competent state policy, it is impossible to maintain its position in such a situation. This opinion was shared by the deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, Viktor Azarenok.
Viktor Azarenok:
"The stagnation of the FRG economy is becoming sustainable. Back in 2022, Germany refused from Russian natural gas, cheap gas. At that time, economic experts, including German ones, stated about the consequences of this extremely unwise decision, but the fact remains that Germany refused from Russian energy carriers, and this is not much more than 45% of total imports".
“Not so long ago, German politicians were not without pride in declaring: we have learned to live without Russian gas. Yes, today they buy gas from Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, and somewhere they have reduced their own costs. But what has this led to? Think about it, a country where the share of gross value added industry is 26%, which is higher than in any other G7 country, has struck a blow to its own well-being,” the expert believes.
