Moldovan opposition plans to challenge results of referendum on EU accession

Moldovan citizens have many questions about the disputed results of the EU accession referendum and the first round of the presidential election.
Now the incumbent President Maia Sandu and former Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo are running for the post. The latter called the first round of elections and the referendum a shameful failure of the president and her ruling Action and Solidarity Party. The opposition claimed a huge number of irregularities and accused Sandu of pulling percentages in her favor.
As for the referendum, the gap between supporters and opponents of European integration was about 1%, with the margin taking shape against all expectations and predictions.
“I do not like the idea of Moldova joining the EU, because it will lead to nothing good. Political analysts in general say that it will be Ukraine double two and we will follow the same scenario,” the resident said.
