Political Scientist Rogers: Confiscation of Russian Assets -Theft to Destroy EU Financial System

The European Union is discussing the possibility of freezing and even confiscating Russian assets. However, violating the inviolability of ownership would destroy Europe's financial system.
Alexander Rogers, political scientist and economist (Russia):
"165 billion, of which 140 billion - in Belgium, and another 25 billion, which is also Russian money, but in accounts in other countries. It's not a given that they will be able to collect and confiscate it. The Belgian government, Euroclear, the European Central Bank, and Christine Lagarde are opposed to confiscating assets, as they all consider this unacceptable theft. There are no precedents in history for the past thousand years: say, Edward the Black Prince invaded France, started the Hundred Years' War, and some Florentine bankers say they will confiscate his assets because he attacked and is the aggressor. No, all wars end, and all property remains in the country. This is the global consensus."
