"We'll do it": Putin supported proposal to adopt Oreshnik into service

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his consent to the proposal to adopt the Russian medium-range missile system Oreshnik into service and enhance its characteristics. This was reported by BELTA with reference to TASS.
This was discussed at a meeting of the head of state with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, the military-industrial complex and developers of missile weapons. "Considering the positive result of the launch, it is considered appropriate to adopt the system into service, continue its further use with an increase in characteristics and improvement of the skills of personnel in its operation and use," said the commander of the Strategic Missile Forces Sergei Karakayev.
In addition, the Russian president reported that Russia has a stockpile of Oreshnik systems ready for use. "We have a stockpile of such products, a stockpile of such systems ready for use," the head of state said.
He also noted that no one in the world has an analogue of the Oreshnik missile system at the moment. "As we know, as you know, no one in the world has such a weapon yet. Yes, sooner or later it will appear in other leading countries. We know what developments are being carried out there, but this will be tomorrow or in a year or two, and we have this system today. And this is important," Putin emphasized. In addition, the Russian president said that the Russian defense industry is developing a whole line of medium- and shorter-range missiles. "In addition to the Oreshnik system, several similar systems are currently being developed in Russia for further testing. Based on the test results, this weapon will also go into production," Vladimir Putin said. He emphasized that in this way, "a whole line of medium- and shorter-range systems is being formed."
