Sergeenko: Belarus ready to share knowledge and technology with African partners
Belarus is interested in strengthening ties with the Pan-African Parliament.
For the first time in history, the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly spoke in the meeting room of one of the key bodies of the African Union. According to Igor Sergeenko, against the backdrop of large-scale geopolitical events, the African continent is attracting more and more attention as a new center of power. Belarus is interested in cooperation. Among the main areas are the agro-industrial complex and food security, industry, education, science and technology, energy.
Our proposals for the supply of agricultural machinery and equipment can form the basis of state projects for the mechanization of agriculture in African countries.
"The advantage of cooperation with Belarus is that we are ready to supply African partners not only with traditional export goods, but also to share our knowledge and technologies. This model has already proven its effectiveness," said Igor Sergeenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus. "Thus, this year Belarusian exports to African countries have grown almost fourfold. Over eight months, they amounted to almost half a billion US dollars, exceeding the annual figures of previous years. I am confident that we can achieve more by participating in specialized pan-African and regional programs."
