Ensuring national and information security, continuity of generations, the 30th anniversary of the Institute of the Presidency, the main achievements of the Republic of Belarus, patriotism and active civic position - these and many other topics were discussed by trade union activists and young teachers of the education system of Minsk district on December 12 during the dialogue platform "We are for the stability and prosperity of the country".
Today we can say with confidence that in 30 years we have built a sovereign, independent, strong, peaceful state and together we are doing everything possible to ensure that our achievements are preserved and increased.
"Belarus is a state for the people. Everything that we have created, are creating and will implement serves exclusively this purpose," the head of state Alexander Lukashenko has repeatedly emphasized.
The current dialogue platform was held under the slogan "Time has chosen us." The event was organized by the Chairperson of the Minsk District Organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Education and Science Workers Zhanna Vorobey and the Director of the State Educational Institution "Ostroshitsko-Gorodok Secondary School" Natalya Belmach.
The Ostroshitsko-Gorodok Secondary School was not chosen as the venue for the event by chance. Its teachers and students sacredly preserve the memory of the events of the Great Patriotic War and the Great Feat of the Belarusian people. The evidence of this is the People's Museum of Military Glory of Ostroshitsky Gorodok, created by the children and teachers themselves.
The following topics were discussed during the dialogue platform:
- National security of the Republic of Belarus as a guarantor of sustainable development and the implementation of national interests;
- information security, information verification, propaganda and the work of neural networks (speaker - Chief Director of the Main Directorate of Internet Broadcasting of Belteleradiocompany Alexander Khorovets);
- preservation of spiritual and moral values and historical memory.
"Knowledge of the history and traditions of your family, society, state gives a feeling of confidence, understanding the value of those achievements that were created by the work of entire generations of citizens of the Republic of Belarus. That is why it is so important for young people to communicate with a wiser and more experienced generation," emphasized the chairman of the primary veteran organization of military unit 3310, retired colonel Alexander Desyatnikov.
However, along with historical memory, security issues, in particular information security, are no less important today.
Here are some figures. The Internet audience of Belarus at the beginning of 2024 numbered almost 8.5 million users, of which about 6 million are social network users. And, interestingly, the social network audience is getting much younger.
For comparison: the largest Internet audience is people aged 35 to 44, and the smallest is aged 12 to 24, but at the same time it is the most active.
"The monthly traffic consumption in this age category (12-24 years) is 79 gigabytes. These are colossal numbers! - stated Alexander Khorovets. - If you look at where young people spend most of their time, these are social networks such as TikTok and Instagram. These platforms pose the greatest danger to the younger generation, as a lot of fakes and deepfakes appear there. And what is a deepfake? It is a technology used to create fake video, audio and photo images, where people's faces and voices are replaced using artificial intelligence. A fake or deepfake lasts from a few hours to a day, but this is enough to spread false information and give cause for panic to both the younger generation and the entire population of our country."
