"I like my country and the way we are going." Belarusians on elections 2025

Belarusians are actively involved in the election campaign.

Pickets to collect signatures for the nomination of presidential candidates are held throughout the country. Initiative groups are working in crowded places.

We found out what Belarusians are voting for.

Alexander Kozlov, a resident of Gomel:

"I like my country and the way we are going. You work, you have everything. Everything is fine."

"The final voting sheet should have some pluralism of choice, citizens of the Republic of Belarus should have several candidates. There was enough time to get familiar with their biographies, their path and decide who I would like to choose," said Artem Karpenko, a resident of Gomel.

To officially become a candidate for President, one must fulfill a number of legal requirements. One of them is to submit at least 100 thousand signatures of citizens to the Central Election Commission. This is the minimum threshold. Their authenticity will be verified by special commissions.

The election campaign will start on January 1. The early voting will take place from January 21 to 25. The main election day is January 26, 2025.
