The mourners in Vatican queued to say their last goodbyes to Pope Francis. Lying-in-state will continue through April 25.
On the evening of April 25, the closing rite of Pope Francis' coffin will take place in St. Peter's Basilica. The ceremony will be led by Cardinal Kevin Farrell, Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church. The pontiff's funeral will take place on April 26.
During these few days, as expected by the Italian Interior Ministry, hundreds of thousands of people from around the world, as well as up to 170 foreign delegations will come to bid farewell to the Pope. Among the leaders the presidents of the United States, Germany, France, Brazil and Argentina are expected to come.
