Belarus is closely monitoring the developments in Syria. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of Belarus Natalya Eismont in response to a request to comment on what is happening in this country, BELTA reports.

"Yes, of course, we are closely monitoring the developments in Syria. Although we are not an interested player in the region and do not interfere in any way in internal affairs," the press secretary said.

"The Syrian people have been and remain friendly to Belarus, we have long-standing good relations. It is in this regard that we are not indifferent to the processes taking place there as human beings. Therefore, we advocate for the earliest possible stabilization of the situation in the interests of the well-being of the people. Belarus has called and continues to call for peace in any critical situation. This position of ours is unchanged," Natalya Eismont emphasized.
