Geneticists identify markers confirming similarity of Belarusian and Russian peoples

Genetic markers have been found that confirm the similarity of the peoples of Belarus and Russia.

For five years, doctors and geneticists have been studying our genomes. The results are actively used in medicine and forensics. If necessary, they will help identify the criminal, and also tell about the predisposition to diseases.

The Belarusian-Russian team plans to continue the research. Scientists are working on the program "DNA Identification - 2". It will also be designed for 5 years. They plan to dedicate it to the genetics of biological objects. This will help prevent illegal logging and combat poaching.
