Igor Korotchenko assesses Belarus' developments of drones of various classes
Recently, during a visit to the Obuz-Lesnovsky military training ground, the President of Belarus said that without drones, there can be no talk of any victory or war. Why the future belongs to drones and how prepared we are in terms of developing and producing such types of weapons, the Russian military expert, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine Igor Korotchenko told in the program "Main Air".
The analyst recalled that the second Karabakh war showed that the role of drones in achieving victory is absolutely obvious. "The special military operation has once again confirmed this. During the SVO, we are dealing with the massive use of the latest versions of various drones by the Russian armed forces, the NATO bloc and Ukraine," he noted. "In this regard, the recommendations and comments that were made by the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, are absolutely fair and correct." The military expert emphasized that Belarus has retained all the competencies it had in the Soviet Union in the field of defense production. "Nothing has been lost," he is confident. "Moreover, over the years of independence, a number of Belarusian defense industry enterprises subordinate to the State Military Industrial Committee of Belarus have significantly increased their capabilities."
Igor Korotchenko:
"I was relatively recently in Minsk at an exhibition where the developments that Belarusian enterprises have today were demonstrated. First of all, I would note, of course, the 558th aircraft repair plant, which produces a series of drones of various classes for monitoring, for aerial reconnaissance and for performing strike missions. I would also note the developments of a number of centers in the system of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus. There are also very good developments in the field of drones of various classes. According to him, a number of other enterprises and competence centers in Belarus demonstrate a world level in the development of unmanned aerial vehicles of various classes. "Therefore, there is potential," Igor Korotchenko summarized".
