Minister of Finance speaks about priorities of 2025 budget
Increase in salaries, pensions and benefits, as well as support for large families. The priorities of the 2025 budget confirm the social focus of the main financial document. This has already become a brand of Belarus. In the first reading, the project was supported by the House of Representatives. Despite the fact that the state treasury has a deficit, funding has been increased for all important expenses.
Houses, schools and kindergartens will be built. Particular attention to teachers' incomes... At the same time, the government is counting on a good increase from the export of our goods and from industry, where new investment projects were launched this year. All this will fill the revenue side of the budget. Our correspondent Svetlana Lukyanuk spoke with the Minister of Finance Yuri Seliverstov.
"Our social policy is a priority. This does not mean that there are only expenses for paying wages. These are expenses related to the entire social block: maintenance of institutions, purchase of medicines, utility bills, food products that are necessary for educational institutions and social service institutions and many other expenses," the head of the department explained.
The second thing the minister noted is the road sector. "If you add up all the sources, almost 3 billion rubles for the road sector. This is the completion of the work that has begun, the continuation of work on local road sector. A large amount of funds is allocated. And I think that this money will go precisely to the priorities that the President outlined, to local roads. Not all work has been completed," he noted.
According to him, the industry needs support. "In order to give good results in industry and agriculture, there must be modern technologies and equipment," the minister emphasized. "There must be a reduction in the cost of those resources that will go towards updating fixed assets. Therefore, more than a billion rubles are allocated here for the industry, for reducing rates, for the possibility of acquiring equipment," the head of the department stated.
