Today, the situation around Belarus is quite complicated, and the analyst do not paint a positive picture. The international security system is also not working effectively enough. This is one of the reasons that forms modern risks, challenges and threats.
How the Republic of Belarus reacts to emerging threats was reported in detail by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, Major General Pavel Muraveyko.
In addition, manifestations of a military-political nature are superimposed: the deployment of NATO and US troop groups near the Belarusian borders, the active militarization of the economies of neighboring countries, the emergence of military contingents, the creation of a logistics system for the delivery of troop groups, weapons, military and special equipment to Europe.
Poland's military budget in 2024 exceeded 3% of GDP and actually exceeded all conceivable and inconceivable requirements of NATO member states to ensure alleged security. This only indicates that militarization is gaining momentum.
In addition, there is an active development and intensification of operational and combat training activities. Large-scale exercises are being conducted to move a group of troops, practice landing troops, and force water obstacles. "These are all aspects that are exclusively offensive in nature. The plans of neighboring countries to develop national armed forces are also impressive," the Chief of the General Staff stated.
Poland has also announced that it is preparing to deploy its armed forces to a strength of 300,000 people. It is also actively purchasing American and Korean weapons, not defensive ones, but multiple launch missile systems, as well as combat helicopters and tanks.
According to Pavel Muraveiko, such a number allows creating more than one tank battalion and more than one group capable of delivering strikes. As he also explained, all this is being done because of the conflict in Ukraine. Today, this is the main trigger and place for the formation of modern challenges and threats that affect the alignment of military and political forces, the creation of certain means of counteraction and the adoption of various decisions.
"Politically irresponsible decisions that allow Ukrainians to use long-range Western systems on Russian territory, to use mine weapons, only lead to an escalation of the situation and do not contribute to strengthening peace and security," the expert believes.
In this case, Belarus has to take this into account in the process of assessing the current military and political situation. The country is preparing the Armed Forces to counter such challenges and threats.
Fact
Belarus is conducting joint training, events, exercises. The army is being equipped with the most modern weapons, including those of Belarusian production. There is a new Polonez-M complex with a greater strike range, modern Su-30SM aircraft, Mi-35 helicopters, and armored vehicles have been equipped. The air defense system is actively developing. Today, Belarus has the S-400, S-300, and Tor-M2 complexes in its arsenal.
All of this is being mastered and clearly operated by military personnel. As the major general emphasized, today the regulatory framework that ensures and coordinates military and national security issues has also been seriously improved. These foundations were laid in the National Security Concept and the Military Doctrine. They are already desktop documents for all officials and are being implemented.
"Whoever is sharpening his teeth, preparing weapons or planning to come to Belarus and organize something on the country's territory, know that the power bloc of the Republic of Belarus is united as never before and represents a powerful fist. Any negative elements, such as collaborators, seeking to create chaos, will not get into our state," Pavel Muraveiko warned in conclusion.
