Why Duda self-isolated at summit in Baku and refused to take a group photo
The COP29 climate summit is taking place in Baku November 11-22.
72 thousand participants from 196 countries, including 80 heads of state, vice presidents and prime ministers, came to the capital of Azerbaijan.
Polish President Andrzej Duda was in the spotlight at the COP29 climate summit in Baku - he refused to participate in a group photo due to the presence of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko there.
Alexander Artamonov, political observer, military expert (Russia) in an interview with "First Information" explained why this happened.
"I understand why the Poles are doing this, because the Polish Prime Minister in 2023 said that the Russian world is a cancerous tumor that must be mercilessly cut out," the military expert noted.
But the Russian world, according to him, is also a certain zone of cultural contact, cooperation within the framework of a single culture of civilizational code.
"Therefore, Belarus, naturally, as a Union State is a country with a common history, partially common, but in principle mostly common history, a single linguistic zone in many ways, I would say, at least in many ways. And from this point of view, Poland perceives the independent will of the Belarusian people in the person of the President of Belarus as something contrary to the revival of that very Rzeczpospolita. And since Belarus sees the stabilization of its course in the union with Russia, the independent course of Belaruscontradicts what Poland has decided for itself. Poland has its own program," he emphasized.
