Main award of the Brazilian diplomacy presented to BSU teacher

The main order of Brazilian diplomacy - the Order of Rio Branco - was awarded to the first Belarusian. Tatiana Sharupich, senior lecturer at the Department of International Relations of the Belarusian State University, became the recipient of this honorary award.

The award is a recognition of her long-term contribution to teaching Portuguese and popularization of Brazilian culture among students.

I always tell my students that Brazil is the largest political and economic partner of Belarus in the whole western hemisphere. All Brazilian ambassadors actively support the training of specialists in international relations with knowledge of Portuguese.

Brazil is a significant partner for Belarus on the Latin American continent. For 32 years we have been closely cooperating on the political arena and in international organizations, actively developing economic ties in such spheres as machine building, industry and information technologies. We are also implementing a number of joint scientific and educational projects.

Brazil has always been of interest to us. We were among the first to open an embassy there, and it is wonderful that the Brazilian side has also met our needs and opened its embassy in Minsk. This already shows that the level of our relations is high.
