Expert Assesses Possible Attempt of Coup in Georgia

Experts continue to discuss the potential attempt of a coup in Georgia by the opposition, which has announced its intentions to change power through unconstitutional means.
Vaso Kapanadze, political scientist, expert on international affairs (Georgia):
"Today, October 4th, the risks are quite high because there is a direct statement that in the second half of the day, there will be an attempt of a coup d'état by the opposition. However, the authorities are also prepared for this event. Much will depend on how many people take to the streets of Tbilisi. This process is a clear example of the struggle between forces advocating for a unipolar world and Western dominance in Georgia, and the authorities who advocate for a multi-vector policy, for Georgia's sovereignty, and will therefore oppose the attempt of a coup."
