Military analyst explain operational purpose of NATO exercises near Union State borders

The military-political situation in the region is complicated. Large-scale NATO exercises in the North Sea started this week. Exercises in eastern Lithuania, not far from the Belarusian border, have just ended.

The program "Main Air" talked about the military technical equipment and readiness of Belarus to give a worthy response to challenges with Russian military expert, editor-in-chief of the magazine "National Defense" Igor Korotchenko.

In recent years, NATO has significantly increased its military activity along the borders of the Union State, the analyst noted. "A whole series of various exercises are being conducted throughout 2024. They practice different combat missions and episodes, but are linked by a common operational plan. The goal is war with Russia and Belarus," the military expert noted.

Igor Korotchenko is convinced that the exercises that are currently underway largely practice the use of American tactical nuclear weapons in the European theater of military operations. "The enemy has been designated, it is the Union State. The entire cycle is being worked out, related to entering certain areas, breaking through the air defense system, delivering strikes and returning back. At the same time, the scenario of unblocking American tactical nuclear weapons is being worked out," he explained. According to him, breaking through the air defense system and attacking with the use of nuclear weapons occurs electronically. "However, everything else is quite real, with the exception of the finalization of the use of nuclear weapons. Therefore, this is the reality in which we find ourselves today. This is today's world," he stated. - In these conditions, maintaining the potential and combat readiness of our joint group of troops of the army of Belarus and the army of Russia at a given level is one of the elements of our response and confident outlook into the future."
