Every fifth student at Belarusian universities is a future engineer. But given the needs of the real sector, this is not enough. There are also questions about the quality of personnel training. The training of engineering personnel from 4 to 5 years should be ahead of the game in many ways, because progress does not stand still. And only well-trained and motivated specialists can master new machines. What is important to change in the personnel training system? Today, the Prime Minister spoke about this with the heads of our large enterprises at the National Technical University.

The concept of developing higher engineering education

Technologies are changing quickly these days, and both those who work and those who train future personnel have to retrain. There is a shortage of engineers on the market today. And they are needed by both large enterprises and small companies. The concept of development of higher engineering education until 2035 is currently being prepared and it is important to define the main thing in it, with an eye to 10 years ahead.

There are more than 20 technical universities in Belarus

The Prime Minister came to the Belarusian National Technical University to listen to what science says and how practice evaluates it. In general, there are more than two dozen such universities in the country. But quantity is not always quality.

Technological sovereignty and independence are impossible, including without strong personnel who are on first-name terms with all the devices and modern solutions, and are ready to offer their own. In a word, so that there is no technological gap between study and work.
