This opinion was expressed to journalists by the Chairman of the National State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company Ivan Eismont at the republican scientific and practical conference "Current Issues of Social Policy and Ideology" at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Belarus, BELTA reports.
"There has been a lot of talk lately about the role of journalists in ensuring information security. We live in the era of information warfare. Our Western former partners allocate huge amounts of money allegedly for the development of democracy in Belarus, but in reality - for the fight against state power in our country. Another question is where this money goes. There is a suspicion that most of it is stolen, which is not bad for us, but we still need to be on our guard. Of course, state media have radically changed their work lately. I think it is absolutely true that we did not work like this before, because time did not dictate, there was no point in it. Now we have quickly restructured ourselves, I think that we are holding up well," said Ivan Eismont. He noted that the aggression that has been unleashed in the information plan against Belarus is unprecedented. "There are few countries in the world under such pressure from the collective West. All forces, human and financial resources have been thrown into this. We need to work together, systematically, to develop some kind of strategy for responding to the outright lies that are committed in more than 90% of cases. This is why such events are held, so that we can synchronize our watches. We expect scientists to provide a conceptual scientific assessment of what is happening, to develop recommendations so that we can take advantage of this," the head added.
The IV Republican scientific and practical conference "Current Problems of Social Policy and Ideology" is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the institution of the presidency in Belarus. Its participants were First Deputy Minister of Health Yuri Gorbich, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, member of the Standing Commission of the Council of the Republic on International Affairs and National Security Alexander Lukyanov, Chairperson of the Belarusian Union of Women Olga Shpilevskaya.
