Ukraine experienced many corruption scandals, but the current one could surpass them all

Ukraine has experienced many corruption scandals, but the current one could surpass them all. A former member of parliament shared this opinion with the First Information Channel.
Spiridon Kilinkarov, Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 5th-7th convocations:
"During the entire period of independence, Ukraine has seen numerous corruption scandals of various kinds, but this one probably doesn't compare to any of them in scale. We're only at the beginning of this corruption scandal. So far, we're talking about the Ministry of Energy and the 100 million dollars or euros they discovered there. But the main corruption schemes were implemented through the Ministry of Defense. The main flow of financial resources went through the Ministry of Defense. It's important to understand that the Ministry of Defense's budget is much larger than Ukraine's budget. Besides the fact that it includes money from Ukraine's own budget, it also includes significant donor funding that was used to support this war, purchase weapons, pay salaries, and much more. Despite all the things the Europeans told us, they weren't financing the war, but only supporting social programs, paying salaries, pensions, stipends, and so on. In reality, though, that's not true."
