What challenges new Belarusian government has to address, expert explains
When a new government is formed in Belarus, it is very important to have not only top professionals in a certain field as policy regulators, but also those who are able to look beyond the horizon.
Alexander Markevich, head of the chair at the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus, declared in the studio of the First Information Channel.
The expert is convinced that it is necessary to foreseen what will happen in a few years, and this is quite difficult.
He also spoke about the challenges that the government being formed today will have to meet, and what issues to resolve.
"That's clear no one is going to lift sanctions against the Republic of Belarus. So we need to elaborate logistics routes in order to ensure the growth of economy. To produce is one thing, but it is highly important to sell. Of course, a small part will come from the domestic market, but we are mainly focused on foreign markets. A significant part of this growth must be exported," Markevich noted. "Therefore, we are rapidly promoting cooperation with the Global South and East, with the states of Africa, Latin America, and traditionally strengthening our tiers in the post-Soviet space. These are our partners that we have long-term relations. And, undoubtedly, the priority in our relations with the Russian Federation, the PRC, we need further strengthened and enhance the pace of our interaction."
